QHC is the largest Queensland Homebrewing Conference in Queensland. It’s a one day event dedicated to home brewers, from beginners to advanced.

Held bi-annually, this year will be even bigger and better than 2015.

Some of the planned topics include:

Main Sessions

Using different hops (they don’t have to start with ‘C’)

Using nitro & other gases

Kettle souring

Home brew theories

Separating brewing fact from fiction

There will also be expert panels and Q&A sessions.

We will be running a Home Brew Club brewing war sponsored by National Home Brew- Eight clubs are brewing a beer based on a standard set of ingredients to vie for a Perpetual Trophy.  What each club does with the ingredients is up to them.  All beers will be tasted and judged by attendees.  Tasting will happen during the breaks.

There will be a range of craft beers on tap throughout the day, supplied by various breweries around Brisbane and elsewhere.   Lunch is provided by the SBIT restaurant and there will be plenty of freebies, lucky prizes and give-aways.

The day will finish with a Beer and Food matching dinner with after- dinner speaker.  5 beers will be presented, brewed by the best home brewers in Queensland.

Pre-conference Event:  We will be kick-starting the event on Friday evening with a mystery Brewery/Craft beer bar bus trip.  This is especially for out-of-towners so they can get to know a few of the venues around Brisbane.
